Where my dogs at?

We’ve moved into November and weather is still cool and lovely. Could be a bit wetter, though. ๐Ÿ™‚ And I hope everyone has managed to adjust to the time change now. We apparently moved our clocks back a week earlier than you U.S. dogs and I have to say I just find it stupid. I keep reminding mom that it’s dinner time at 5:30 instead of 6:30. Pure insanity. Any of you figured out why the humans do this to us and themselves twice a year?

The leaves are falling like crazy here and it’s making it a bit more difficult to keep up with all my pee-mails; but the apples are falling too and that is fantastic news! Why? Cause the humans have actually been willing to kick a few apples for me during the walks…and that rocks! They usually only pick out nice looking ones and they’ll roll quite a good way along the path before I swoop down and chomp on them. I love chasing those things! Mom even bends over sometimes, despite her bulging belly (she really needs to start working out more, folks) and finds apples to throw for me which is equally fabulous; especially when she grabs a few at a time and launches them one after the other.

You see, I won’t actually bring the apples back. I usually bite down on them and break them up…but I don’t necessarily eat them. I did something fun with one last week and brought it with me to meet everyone. This special guy didn’t get eaten, though. I carried him around the house most of the weekend and yesterday decided to take him along on the walk. But he got kinda heavy on the way there so I put him on the sidewalk to collect later. Tragically, he had been kicked under a car by the time we got back so I’ve not been able to retrieve him yet. I also fear he may be broken and/or partially smooshed. It’s terrible news. Mom & dad tried to find me a new apple but it’s just not the same. I carried one that was really similar part of the way back this morning but had to leave him behind in the end. I’m just not ready to move on.

Keep your noses cold and your paws clean!

Newfie kisses,

Ayla
