Morning friends!

I am still SO tired after all the visitors and excitement we had last week. First we had people here during the week…with a new baby! Excitement!! And then over the weekend we had more people here. Plus fireworks on Monday night which caused me to crawl right up into mom’s lap for protection. And tomorrow we are getting visitors AGAIN! A dog’s work is just never done. I can’t believe all these people I have to entertain lately…it’s just madness!

I thought I would share some more photos with you that my dad took on recent walks around here. I’m sure I could think up something profound to say otherwise, but honestly I’d rather just go back to the corner, roll over on my back and snore away.

Check out these things! My humans call them windmills, Mackenzie calls them flowers…but honestly I just call them freaky. I hear they produce energy (whatever that is) but they seem like they must be huge since they are really far away from us but you can see them really well. We have 7 in all now…guess that should be making lots of energy for us.

Poppies in the field of wheat. They actually harvested all this in the last few days. No more fertilizing the flowers for me…and I have to find something new to wander through and pick up scents from. Dang.

The honkers! Are these things not strange? What’s with those long necks? And the one on the right has a mohawk!

Apparently they also like to eat grass a lot…like me.

And they’re really not very clean eaters. I mean look at all that grass hanging out of their mouths!

Ah, the mohawk bird again. Mom says she’s a gander…whatever that means. I personally am pretty scared of all things that honk — because these birds have actually tried to attack me before through the fence. They do not come in peace.

While we were checking out their area, these roosters decided to gang up on one poor little chicken. If you ask me, 5 roosters and 3 hens is just a really poorly balanced equation. But no one ever really asks me…

And my dear friends the sheep. I love scaring these guys…they find it really fun I’m sure. Run up the hill, see if they’re standing around and just watch them scatter. Good times. Every now and then the really old goat will be up there and he’ll just turn to look at me and “baaah.” Which is funny because it sounds like a really stressed out burp.

So that’s all in the photo department for now. I have to start reminding mom to take her camera on the the walks more often because she’s missed some great photo ops of me and other wildlife. One day, I will have her fully trained!

Until next time, keep your tails high and your paws clean!

Ayla
