Another Newfie on Cute Overload!
I love looking at this blog because they end up with the most adorable pictures – and sometimes you just need something to brighten your day. I’ve seen very few Newfs come up on here so when I was going through the blog today I was thrilled to see this guy, The Brave Spelunker!! Now if I could just manage to catch Ayla doing something wildly cute maybe we could get a few more Newfie images in... read more

Stuff we NEED from Smarthome
We’ve rediscovered a website that we haven’t been on in a long time and it’s probably a bad thing. We’ve never bought anything from them but some of their products are just so incredible that I’m not sure why we haven’t. The price tags are quite steep so I’m sure that has something to do with it but the ideas are just great. Some of the items on our new wish... read more

Planning for the weekend
Tomorrow we will once again attempt to pick up the sink cabinet for our new upstairs bath from IKEA. Their online system is saying they have it back in stock and we’re both really hoping that it will still be in stock by the time we get there tomorrow. We thought about going yesterday but hubby wasn’t really in the mood when he came home because he’d had a pretty crummy day at work. And... read more

It’s snowing again
For the past two days, we’ve had some rather interesting weather here. When we woke up yesterday, there was a light blanket of snow covering everything and apparently everyone around here forgot how to drive in slush because it took hubby almost twice as long to get to work. This morning it’s been snowing again but none of it is sticking at the moment. It’s supposed to be 36 degrees... read more

Ayla’s new best friend
Yesterday one of the contractors working on our house came over to pick up a bunch of tools and spare materials that had been left here over the past few months. They actually started taking stuff with them yesterday but they didn’t have enough room in their van in the end…which only shows a bit more just how much junk they had laying around and why Ayla has an endless supply of things to... read more

When the cats come out to play
We’ve had Ayla now for close to 9 months and we always hoped that at some point along the way, the dogs and cats would just somehow start to get along. It never happened in our old house but we thought that perhaps when we move, the environment will be totally different, everything will smell like dog because she’s had access to everything for a longer period of time and somehow they will just... read more

A snowy start
This morning when I awoke, it was snowing. I was rather shocked to say the least but at the same time pleasantly surprised. They were calling for a possibility of snow yesterday and hubby said he saw some flurries but that was about it. But this morning, there were big, huge, wet flakes falling rather quickly and most of the cars were blanketed in the moist snow. Nothing was really sticking to the ground,... read more

Success finally
Not only did I finally get everything worked out on our PC so I can run the needed updates and hopefully install the network card to work with our new router, but they are finished installing the toilet and shower fixtures and are taking the larger of the two glass walls upstairs now. Almost surprisingly, it actually fit up the staircase without any chaos which was making me a bit nervous lately. So now... read more

A few little changes & adjustments
So I’ve spent the majority of this day on two things: Trying to get the final computer to update so I can hook it up to the Internet (which sounds so much more simple than it is) Updating the layout of this blog (which turned out to be much more complicated that I ever would have imagined) Since I don’t want to put you to sleep, I spare you the stories about the computer chaos and just get to... read more

Getting back to the daily grind
Somehow weekends are just never long enough lately. Perhaps we’ve been spoiled by too many long weekends in the last few months or perhaps we’re just working too hard during the weekend (or perhaps a bit of both), but when Monday morning rolls around again, we’re not feeling refreshed, regardless of when we went to bed the night before. Of course, I think both of us would prefer to be... read more
