More canning jars for the collection
“Did you know they’re giving away 1 & 2 liter canning jars at your farmer’s market right now?”
“Uh no,” we responded to Stefan’s father as we sat enjoying dinner last night.
“Yeah, they had a sign up when I was up there earlier and I forgot to mention it.”
So once again we have lucked into free canning jars. We ended up with about fifty 1.5 and 2 liter jars which are really hard to find, especially free. You can’t use them to can everything you make but pickles, apple pie filling and juices are perfect in them. And you can make great looking candles or votives with them.
Now I just need to buy a bag or two of sand to weight them down and drop candles in all the chipped 1, 1.5 and 2 liter jars I have and we’ll be ready to party when it gets dark. If we get really inspired, we’ll order some paraffin wax and make real candles out of them.
