Hello puppy friends,
Guess what?
I am turning 6 tomorrow! That’s right, it’s going to be my happy burp-day….and I sure hope that mom & dad have something nice in store for me!
Over the years, I’ve become as close as I care to get to a model doggy citizen (as long as I don’t see a dog a dog I dislike or they bark at me aggressively first.)
- I still love a good roll in something fowl smelling (and reminded mom of that recently when I found what she figures must have been catfish bait from the smell of me.)
- I’ll chow down on things that are clearly intended for the compost bin when no one is looking (who says that moldy bread is bad??)
- I counter surf like a champion, especially if there is sausage or meat involved.
- Dried chunks of animal lung are sure to get the floodgates of drool running from my jowls.
- The “kickie dance” is still part of my daily ritual, when I just lay on my back, pumping the air with my feet with sweet abandon.
- And I challenge any dog my age to sprawl out in a froggie lay as quickly as I do.
Since I don’t want anybody to get me a gift I won’t adore, I thought I would give them some help with this mega awesome list of things I totally dig.
I’m getting up there in age, so I think it’s about time for me to have some proper bling. A crystal dog collar would be so me, don’t you think? With my name on it?? Pink for girls, of course, since most people seem to think I’m a boy. Ugh.
Or maybe a super comfy dog bed to lay my old bones on? Since we got the new-to-us leather couches, I’m rarely allowed up on the couch anymore. And I think I deserve a nice place to relax after a hard day of playing and begging for food, don’t you?
Speaking of food, how about some really drool-tastic dog treats! You know, something that smells really foul and dead that I can really sink my teeth into? These Zuke’s Lamb Jerky Naturals Dog Treats sound totally awesome.
At the very least, mom better be thinking about making me a doggy birthday cake that tastes divine!
I sure would love it if we managed to score a play date with my friends during the walk, too!
Do you celebrate your pets’ birthdays just like they are part of the family? Have you ever hosted a doggy birthday party? I’ve heard those can be quite amusing. But they better not try to put me in a party hat…
Kisses,
Happy birthday Ayla, I hope you have many more. I told my cats that a dog in Germany was having a birthday and they all just yawned. Oh well, we can’t get everyone to share our enthusiasm. 🙂
Happy Birthday, Ayla! I hope you get one or all of those fine gifts that you picked out! 🙂
