A sling for all occasions

I bought a Baby Bjorn Synergy sling on eBay earlier this week and we picked it up from the post office on Saturday. When I decided to try it on, I have to admit I was intimidated. The two pieces were snapped apart and with all the straps to fit here and there, I was concerned this might get more intense than I was looking for. But people online give it great reviews so I made use of my IKEA assembly manual reading skills and did my best to figure out how everything should fit. Now that I see where everything goes, it really is quite simple and I don’t think that switching back and forth from my size to Stefan’s will be too difficult either. I’ll write more about it when we’ve had a chance to really try it out

We’ve bought a small baby doll to get Ayla used to the idea that she can’t jump on us when we have a baby in our arms and things like that. She was pretty excited to slobber all over the doll today in the sling but I think we’re going to be ok in general.

The doll is actually a few inches too short for the sling so we’ll see how it goes with Mackenzie at first. I’m planning to get a simple, low-tech cloth sling as well; just have to figure out if I can get a great one here or need to order something from the US. I figure with these two slings we can carry Mackenzie quite a bit and not have to use a stroller all the time for dog walks, shopping trips and similar things. Plus it will help with learning her signals for elimination control and increase the times I can sign to her.

You´ll be fine. I think, once Ayla gets to know Mackenzie, she´ll be much more carefull. After all, she´s also a woman!

But, I have to say: Tiff, you look great ;-)
Being pregnant suits you pretty well ;-)

If I have another baby, I’m getting a hotsling- I think that was the name- basically just a loop of material that you fold in half to create a pouch for the baby.

@Boerd: Thanks. I’m sure Ayla will get in line soon too! Besides, every year she gets a little more relaxed so that will help also.

@Allie: Thanks for the tip on the Hotslings – I will definitely check them out. Maybe I can even manage to find some over here so I can try one on ;)
