Fit as a fiddle

OK, this is going to be a brief brag about myself but I would like to give some hope out there to other pregnant moms worried about getting their figure back…it can be wonderfully simple and after the baby arrives you just might be able to watch the weight fall off and your stomach shrink within the first two weeks. After nearly three weeks, you can feel totally fit again, as if months have passed since you were passing a watermelon through your pelvis. And I’m almost to the point where no panty liners are needed (sorry for the over-share) which is another welcome surprise.

What’s the secret? Can’t say really. Breastfeeding is supposed to hold magical powers. I haven’t started exercising but I do plan to use my Wii Fit to its fullest potential starting very soon. I take 1-2 thirty minute walks with the puppy each day but they are not very intense and I was doing that until my last week of pregnancy also. I did take things as easy as possible the first 4 days when I was in the hospital…of course there wasn’t much chance to be active anyway. The second week I also took fairly lightly, with Stefan usually taking doggo for walks and me holding down the couch as much as possible. And since I didn’t have any tearing or need stitches, that was one less issue to deal with.

I’m down to 148 pounds; about 15 pounds more than before I got pregnant…but I was very skinny then too. Now I’d just like to firm things up and get everything toned. I’m planning to start running in the spring as well. Then when summer rolls around, I don’t have to be looking for a one-piece to hide anything and may just be looking better than I ever have before.  ;)
