Although the holidays are now over, the last given assignment for You Capture was festive….and since I didn’t get around to it last week and Beth has left it as a topic, I figured I would share a few moments from our festivities!

Mackenzie was in her first Christmas production which were songs and a bit of dancing put together by her preschool. It was one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen and she was dead set on being the center of the show. 🙂

Also particularly cute was Ayla before we hit the market on Saturday. We bought her some antlers special for the occasion — as you might expect, she did NOT want to leave them on. But she still managed to score herself some extra sausages and cheese. 😉

One very special gift that we received this year was our very own nativity scene, which is something that Stefan and I have been talking about getting for YEARS. But honestly, they are wildly expensive here because the house/stable area is usually hand made and so you generally spend €200 or more on them. So we are really thrilled about this and might just have to find a way to leave it up most of the year. 😉  christmas-manger

We also hit up the Christmas markets more often than any other year — probably because there were so many of them here in Berlin and easy for us to get to. In fact, one large one is only a few blocks away! christmas-market-berlin-02

And Christmas markets just aren’t complete without roasted almonds and chocolate covered fruit. The strawberries are favorites for all of us! It’s such a simple treat and I keep saying we’re going to make our own or at least chocolate fondue. But on the other hand, if I discover how easy it is to do at home, that’s probably not the healthiest thing for us either and we’ll have to double up on the running! 😉christmas-market-schokofrucht

Did you have wonderful holidays? What festive things did you do that stand out now?
