The Thanksgiving Countdown
Thanksgiving will be combined with Christmas at our house this year. I would have loved to do a traditional dinner with all the trimmings, but I could be in the hospital, have just brought Mack home or still be pregnant – so planning a huge feast at our place with friends just didn’t seem so practical. But next year, we will make up for it!
Even though I won’t be cooking, I wanted to share some of the recipes that we used last year. Our menu:
- Turkey
- Stuffing/Dressing
- Cranberry or Currant Relish
- Gravy
- Sugared Carrots
- Green Beans
- Sweet Potatoes
- Fresh Salad – throw some edible flowers in there to make it special.
- Philly Cream Cheese Corn
- Sweet Dinner Rolls
- New York Cheesecake
- Pumpkin Pie
It always seems like so little when it’s written out…but we served 8 adults and 2 kids and there was definitely no one left hungry. I don’t think I would have changed a thing on the menu. We were so full from dinner that some guests actually just took dessert home for later. It would have been hard to finish off both cheesecakes ourselves…but we had no trouble with the few leftovers we ended up with. I actually would have been happy if they’d lasted a few more days!
Recipes will be flooding this blog in the next two weeks!!!
Keep the kids entertained too!
