There are positives and negatives to every housing choice you might decide on for you and your family. While living in a house might offer you the freedom to come and go as you please, there are plenty of other things that you will sacrifice when you choose to live in a house. There are lofts all over the world, from Alaska lofts to Toronto lofts. When might a loft be the choice for you though?

Community

One thing that is missing from modern life is a sense of community. This is one area that lofts excel in though. A loft is run by a homeowners association, this means there are regular meetings where all residents can meet to discuss the way that the loft is being run. People live in a close proximity to each other and that gives everyone the opportunity to foster a close relationship with their neighbours. The sense of community isn’t just created by the close proximity that everyone lives to each other though.

Facilities

If you want access to a wide range of facilities all included with your rent and you don’t even need to leave your building to get there, then a loft is definitely the home for you. With most lofts offering access to a gym, a swimming pool, tennis courts, hot tubs and many communal areas living in a loft is a veritable treasure trove of amenities. It gives you the convenience and luxury of any high-quality resort, but it is right there on your doorstep. It’s not just fitness based amenities that a loft offers though. If you’re more into restaurants and bars then most lofts offer these choices too, although obviously, you will need to pay for your food and drinks.  If you enjoy taking part in a number of activities then living in a loft is certainly the right choice for you.

Low Maintenance

If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t like having to do extra work once you get home then a loft is definitely the place for you. A loft doesn’t have a garden to tend to. There is no annoying lawn mowing and definitely no tending to weeds. The exterior is another area where you don’t need to spend your time too. All painting and other repairs are covered in your yearly dues to the homeowners association. All of this gives you the opportunity to concentrate on your interests when you get home at the end of the day.

Summing Up

In the grand scheme of things, there are lots of positives and negatives to living in a loft. If you value the ability to take part in many different activities with relative ease then a loft is for you. If you value the lack of effort required on your part to look after where you live then a loft is for you. If you prefer on-site security to ensure you are kept safe then a loft is for you. If you enjoy more freedom or find gardening therapeutic then a loft might not be the right choice for you. Make sure that you take your own desires into consideration when choosing your home.
