Ok, my hormone spike seems to have passed…and I have officially started on the first of the 31 day program from FlyLady. Wow, I kinda feel like a recovering alcoholic or something. πŸ˜‰

I mentioned it before but the first step is to shine your sink…and keep it empty and clean for a month. Before you go to bed at night, put the dishes in the sink and there is one less thing to dread in the morning when you get up. Not so nice to wake up and walk in the kitchen to a counter full or stuff you need to clean. And since the kitchen is the first place I go in the morning, it definitely has the tendency to set the mood for the rest of the day.

Usually I manage to make a bit of time while cooking dinner to load whatever I’ve been using into the dishwasher and start it when full. Then I just need to unload it in the morning and it’s all good to go again. But other days I just get so much going on that the sink is overflowing.

Here was the sink today at 1:30pm.

And my kitchen in general

So I put about 1.5 hours into cleaning things up and putting some stuff away. It’s considerably better now! The sink is actually white again which is a very nice start. The wall behind it still needs some love but one of these years it will be tiled which will make life easier anyway…good thing Stefan LOVES tiling πŸ˜‰

And the kitchen is far less cluttered…

Both of these tasks are things I’ve needed to do for a while but just lacked the motivation. I even vacuumed, something I really need to do on a daily basis with the Newf around. It makes such a vast improvement afterwards, I don’t know why I always put it off. Guess it’s just an issue of trying to balance housework with real work stuff. Yep, sanity can’t be far off now lol
