Once again I’m slacking. This past weekend we had a pretty big party here with a bunch of friends and family…it was a lot of work but thankfully also was fun – and will probably be the last of them for a long while. Yeah, we’ve said that before, right? But now I think we’ve finally had our fill of parties with 50+ people. A number something like 10-15 sounds so much nicer…but that’s not the point of this post anyway.

One of my friends on twitter asked how the mudroom was coming along, and I realized I’ve once again been a bad little blogger and not written a thing about it since I’ve gotten it to a stable point once again. Well, there’s still a lot of wine that needs to be moved over to the cellar (birthday presents for Stefan) but the lights are still out in there so that’s just going to have to wait. Plus I’m not allowed to move them anyway. Tragic.

As you recall, I posted an update about the mudroom a few weeks ago (man, where does the time go?!?!?) That was right after I got the cabinets hung and I had yet to do anything to the pantry. Here’s where we are now…

I ended up having ample space in the hanging cabinets for everything I needed…and then some! That’s always pleasing. So now all our extra party wine and beer glasses have a permanent home.

We also got a new lamp installed by the electrician since he was here already doing work in the barn.

And the pantry has also filled up quickly. I have a pull out pantry in the kitchen itself but this is where I’m keeping all my decoration stuff, extra stashes of American goodies that we bring back from the US and other stuff that I happen to have large quantities of.

I’m totally thrilled with the way things turned out. I need to have some hooks put up on the empty wall to hang mops and things like that…but I have space in here for all the vacuums, mops, dog food and more. It’s got to be one of our best ideas so far. To say I’m loving it is probably an understatement…and now I even have space for all sorts of things when we start canning – whenever we manage to grab the reigns of the garden that is! But that is another project for a whole other month!
