I haven’t talked much about our move back to Florida or our surroundings, but I plan to change that going forward. So be on the lookout for lots of new posts. But for now, I want to focus on one particular new addition to our place that feels like it was just made for us.

Maybe I should back up a bit first. We bought our condo here mostly furnished. That meant we didn’t need to bring a bunch of extra stuff with us from Germany, but it also means living with a few things that aren’t quite your style for a while. The good news is, the bed had a bit of an Asian flair to it and was dark wood, so it went well with several of the other Asian pieces of furniture we have inherited over the years. Some of our pieces are the fan you see below above our bed, the geisha I received as a child from my grandmother, a wooden carved divider wall and a big wooden trunk with a bunch of  ships carved into it. We’ve kept many of the things confined into our room to create a “theme” and think it’s turned out well so far — but we’re hardly interior decorators.

But the one thing we often have lacked from home to home is art for our walls. So when All Tapestry (http://www.alltapestry.com) contacted me about trying out one of their products, I was thrilled to see that they had many Asian-influenced tapestries to help us bring our master bedroom together a bit more. The tapestry we selected was a large geisha which is wearing a beautiful kimono that no doubt is supposed to tell a very intricate story.

From what I can gather from my very limited knowledge of Japanese folklore, there’s a lot of happiness, sadness, landmarks and history. Or it could just be a bunch of random images thrown together. Who knows?
geisha-wall-tapestry_02The quality of the tapestry is really great and I love the vividness of the images. In fact, a few of the tapestries on their website are made so that it almost looks like you’re staring out a window at the beach. I really like the idea of using them for that purpose, and we almost selected one for our bathroom instead. But I do have to wonder if the moisture and humidity in the bathroom would be too much for a tapestry.

Each one comes with its own hanging rod and screws. We used our own wall anchors to put it up but had no trouble at all getting it to stay up, even though the tapestry is a little bit heavy.

All in all, I am really happy with the product and, for the price, you receive a substantial piece of art that you will be able to cherish for years to come. If you are thinking about adding some color or a new touch into your home, be sure to check out what All Tapestry has to offer.

Note: The opinions expressed in this post are my own. I received a tapestry for review purposes but no payment from the manufacturer for this post. Feel free to visit my disclosure page if you have questions about this post or any other posts on NOH.
