The new fridge is coming

Sometime during the day tomorrow, our new refrigerator will be arriving. We found a side-by-side we like for less than €1,000 which was generally our goal. Cool enough for ya part 4!

Well, the Bauknecht/Whirlpool repair technician was just here and the verdict he delivered after looking at the fridge for about 15 seconds was devastating. This fridge has officially bit the dust. Because we have two compressors in the bottom, the freezer will continue to run, probably for another 10 years or more…but there is absolutely no hope for the fridge part of the unit. Cool enough for ya part 3!

The saga began yesterday but it’s far from over yet. We managed to get the little fridge inside from the barn and found that we apparently hadn’t de-iced the tiny freezer inside before moving it and the fridge was not alive with mildew. Just what we wanted to deal with. So out came the bleach and we scrubbed the fridge down as best we could which seemed futile at best. It’s about 15 years... read more

So I mentioned earlier this morning that we’re having problems with our fridge. I decided that the first step I would take in attempting to solve the dilemma would be to defrost the freezer. Road construction

Our house sits on a main street which connects several small villages to each other. There are other ways to get from A to B but going through our town is probably the easiest and fastest since we have very few traffic lights and they are rarely ever red.
