Party planning & our food line-up
We’ve mentioned several times that we will be having a relatively large housewarming party which has had us a bit concerned and almost overwhelmed at times…but we are slowly but surely figuring it all out. Last Thursday we finally sat down and mapped out what we will feed the more than 50 people who have confirmed they’ll be attending and how we can best coordinate everything. We’ve... read more

When it rains it pours…
Figuratively speaking, of course. Well it is actually raining a bit here today but more of a drizzle than “falling a flood” as we like to say in the South. We are having a housewarming party August 4th and have invited the family that used to own this house along with a bunch of our neighbors who we don’t really know…and of course our friends, family and coworkers. Today we got an... read more

Victims of a hit and run
Nothing tragic, nothing tragic…but we did have a run in (quite literally) with a port-o-potty truck in our alley yesterday. One of our neighbors in the alley that run beside our house had a party on Wednesday night. Apparently they also had a port-o-potty for their guests to use (ick!) and they had it picked up yesterday. As I was sitting in my office and working, I heard a bang on the side of the... read more

Ayla’s Awesome Assays Vol. 5
It’s Thursday again and time for more fun searches that led to this blog. We have some interesting one this week and thankfully no searches for the name Ayla…almost hard to believe really! best collars for newfies I find this to be a matter of opinion but I will tell you what we have used and what we like the best so far. Ayla usually wears a thick nylon collar. It’s a little bit more... read more

It’s a good thing we have a big place
We are starting to plan the first somewhat major party to be held at our home in the next year or so. We had Stefan’s 10 year high school class reunion here – but that turned out to be about 10 people including us. That party did require a little bit of planning but it’s nothing compared to the 85 potential guests ( plus 20 kids) we have on our housewarming party list. The party will be... read more

One million little things
As almost anyone who has ever owned a house (old or new) can tell you, it seems that there is a never ending list of things to do…and we are definitely no different. But it seems that each To Do List we compose ends up with a To Do List of its own. It’s a never ending saga. Of course, if we ever were to reach the bottom of these infinite lists, I suppose we’d instead be complaining of... read more

Back to life
We didn’t get anything done around the house this weekend because we weren’t here. But thankfully it will be a short week here as Thursday is a holiday here in Germany…and Stefan has taken Friday off just because he can. We thought we would be having his ten year class reunion here this coming weekend and would be spending those two days finishing up various projects around the... read more

Booked solid until mid-May
Hubby and I are starting to feel old. We know we’re not, but we’re approaching thirty and our 10 year class reunions from high school are coming up…and it makes you just want to stop counting birthdays. I have recently said I’m just going to age until 25 or 30, then go back down to 21, back up to 30 and so on. Then there’s no climbing into the 30s range and all those things... read more
