Woof Wednesday: We done found us some snow!
Hello friends!! Wow, have I got some exciting stuff to share with you today! Last week, we took a little vacation and even though it’s pretty warm at home…where we went there was SNOW! And lots of it. I could hardly even believe my eyes. And we didn’t even have to drive that far. Mom says about 3 hours which in dog time means you’re going to be in the back of the truck for a... read more

Woof Wednesday: I’m ready to walk myself
G’day mates! I’ve been in a strange mood the last couple days. I’m starting to boycott going for walks but I refuse to reveal my reasons. Ok, well I will give you a few things I don’t like lately that are taking place. For starters, only mom has been around to take me for my evening walk which has just totally thrown off my groove. Dad has had other plans the last two days and I... read more

Oh happy day!
Well folks, it’s finally happened. We got snow! And I have to say – it’s just as fantastic as everyone led me to believe it would be!!! Not only could I see everywhere I’d been walking…but everything was just crisp and fantastic! Even the water in the stream tasted better. While we were out, my friend Maya appeared. So I laid down to wait for her…oh so patiently. And... read more

Harness good, block bad
My dear doggie friends! It’s been a crazy couple of days here. First, it’s super cold!!! We’re talking barely above freezing for almost a week, folks…and I hear there’s more to come. It’s been really clear and sunny which was nice…but some snow would rock! Apparently snow is something I would love…I’ve only seen about an inch of the stuff on the... read more

You want to walk her for me?
Just back from my morning walk with Ayla. Ran into someone with a pretty cute Spaniel of some sort (something hunting dog-ish) and her dog was quite the spazz. He wanted to eat Ayla so I had to hold her back a bit…she thinks a dog baring his teeth is some sort of wild & crazy game. Yes, she is an airhead. Another one of our neighbors was Nordic walking up the path behind us and when she got to... read more

Stick it to me!
Hey dogs! It’s me, Ayla, here. I thought I would pop in again and say “Hello” since it’s been a while since either my mom or I wrote. There’s been some fun stuff going on, but we’ve just been so busy that neither of us has been able to sit down long enough to type things out…but I’m here now so no worries! Last Friday I was out walking with my humans and I... read more

Bowling with humans
We were out walking with Ayla tonight and had something new happen – she actually managed to knock us BOTH over at once! Since we go out at about 7 pm, it’s already very dark and we have yet to find a light for Ayla that lasts more than a week (despite the 3 year product warranties), it’s usually extremely dark in the fields behind our house. So when our 100 pound dog came barreling... read more

Chasing mice…or ??
This morning during our walk Ayla was having a great time amusing herself. We’ve gone from highs in the 90s and clear skies this weekend to rain, drizzle and highs in the 60s now – and of course Ayla is really enjoying it. She is going to be in great need of a bath very, very soon because she definitely has Stinky Dog Syndrome right now! As we were walking along the path this morning, Ayla was... read more

The doctor pays us a visit
Before you start getting concerned, there’s nothing wrong with Ayla. Well, I guess that might be a matter of opinion but physically there is nothing wrong with her We finally decided to take advantage of our new sewing machine yesterday and repaired the fantastic retractable leash that we bought in March. It lasted all of two weeks (maybe even less) and she had nearly chewed through the line and we... read more

Walking with the bone
Yesterday evening Ayla and I took our walk alone. Stefan had to leave for business and will be coming back home tonight, but he had to leave before Ayla’s usual walk time so I took her alone. It was around 80 degrees when we went out for the walk which isn’t so hot to humans but when you’re wearing a very thick fur coat, it’s not so great. As we started out the front gate, Ayla... read more
