Quite a bit of progress has been made since our last visit. About half of the kitchen is tiled now and it’s finally starting to look like a real kitchen now and absolutely feeling like part of the house now. We both were kind of having our doubts for a bit that things would really flow in the end.

So now we just have to wait for the floor to be finished so we can start putting the kitchen together. And once that is in then we can finally order our counter top so we know exactly the size we need. Why do we need to wait that long? Well, we’re ordering a granite counter top directly from Italy (one of the perks of living in Europe lol). Naturally we won’t be able to just order another one if we screw up the size the first time so we are making sure it’s exactly right.

The digging mission continued while we were gone as well. As you can see, they have the same poor guy doing this job. A friend commented on his blue get-up in the last blog entry…in Germany, the workers often wear blue jumpsuits or blue jacket and pant combos. It really gives a whole new meaning to the Blue Man Group. 🙂 Anyway, he’s got the whole pipe laid in there now and has started closing up parts in the middle now.
