Growing up, I can remember a few evenings when we “made it a Manwich night” and how quick, easy and good it was. Over here in Germany, you’re definitely not going to get your hands on a can of Manwich…but quite honestly, I wouldn’t want to. Making your own sloppy joes is nearly as easy as opening the can. And I would hope that you’ll find it tastes better with fresh ingredients anyway. For a real treat, you can make your own fresh buns also…then you’ll really feast.

I have actually been meaning to make buns and sloppy joes for a while now but making the buns just became a daunting task. So I broke down and bought some buns the other day and we finally chowed down on sloppy joes a few nights ago. Cheddar cheese makes these SO good. We usually eat ours open faced because trying to keep the meat inside the bun never seems to work out. You can even freeze some of the finished beef mixture and then have dinner ready in minutes.
