Building a greenhouse & the garden
Germany is not the most ideal place to grow many of the fruits and vegetables we love to eat and have grown used to while living in places like Miami. So finding a way to extend the growing season is essential if you want to get beyond the typical backyard veggie...Another pretty cool site…
As we picked up a cold frame “greenhouse” yesterday and are currently housing a few lettuce transplants in our barn which we bought last week. We had hoped to plant the lettuce last week, but winter came back and we even had a few instances of snowflakes....How much stuff do we need to grow?
Working on the vegetable garden this weekend made us really want plan out our garden for this summer. But one thing bothered us. Having never really had the space available to actually grow enough vegetables to supplement us with our own stuff during the growing...Our first new tree for the house :)
We bought a tree this weekend and it will hopefully be delivered in the next few days. We are replacing the dead cedar in front of the house (see below) with an oleander tree like the one in the photo below. We figure it should look really lovely in front of the house...ABOUT NOH
