Hello fur and non-fur friends!

I hope you’re having a Newf-tastic week. Fall is being really awesome to us so far…although it was over 70 degrees again yesterday which was WARM! But that’s what happens when you’re wearing a gorgeous fur like me all year.

Last Friday, mom baked sour cream & buttermilk biscuits and Mackenzie got to try one. After a few bites, she decided she didn’t want anymore so she tossed me the two remaining pieces of biscuit. She and I have finally worked out our routine so that she can sneak me food without mom seeing. It’s such a brilliant scheme as long as we don’t get busted. Mack looks like a star because she finished her food…and I get a little snack on the side, which I can always use.

But when it came to these biscuit pieces, I couldn’t just eat them immediately. Something about these two biscuit pieces told me I needed to really savor them. And so I carried them around with me all weekend…taking them inside, then outside, then inside again. I tried giving them to some of my toys, I hid them behind plants, I even thought about digging them into the ground…but it turned out to be too much effort.

Then, mom started talking about taking photos of them on Monday and I knew it was time to eat them. I couldn’t let her ruin them by taking a photo! And so, before she could even think about coming near them with a camera, they were gone. I don’t think she even noticed I wasn’t carrying them around anymore until a few days later. But she was impressed with my ability to pick up both pieces in my mouth at the same time. It’s a big mouth — what can I say. The tricky part is getting the first piece to stay in there when I go to pick up the second!

In other news, mom refused to let me eat a cardboard box that was outside…but I hear she’s got a huge collection of boxes in our barn with my name all over them. So I can’t wait until she unleashes me on those! Maybe I can just dive right into the pile!!

Oh, and I’ve heard the word “diet” mentioned a few times around me lately, coupled with the word “broad” so I guess all those snacks Mackenzie sneaks me aren’t going totally unnoticed.

Ok, I’m exhausted from all this typing. So I’m going to go catch a few more winks before our morning walk and then get everyone in the house revved up!

Hope you get lots of treats that don’t go straight to your hips!

Kissees,

Ayla
