About NOH

No Ordinary Homestead (NOH) is where you can go when you want to discuss things you’re going through with people who have been there. I am Tiffany M. (you can contact me here), a passionate woman in my mid-40s who enjoys being a wife, mom, and entrepreneur.

I write about my life experiences related to travel, marriage, personal health, and simple living. As a Gen Xer, I may not always have all the answers, but I’ll probably pretend I do. My husband and I have been married for over 25 years, and as we face a new chapter in our lives as soon-to-be empty nesters, there’s so much I have to share. I hope you’ll share with me as well!

A Little History

NOH, started in 2006, began as a way for us to let our friends in family around the world keep up with all that we were doing. As an American expat living in Germany, there were a lot of life experiences that people were curious about, including the addition of Ayla, a Newfoundland dog, to our home, and shortly thereafter, our 1830’s farmhouse near Frankfurt.

In 2008, I became a full-time mom in addition to running our marketing and online publishing businesses. It quickly became apparent that I could not simply maintain my old routine. I was getting nothing done at home or at work and feeling guilty for not being with my daughter enough as she was quickly growing up. I knew I would need to find a way to strike a balance between family, business, and home in a natural and healthy way…and once I achieved that, I knew I just had to share it with you.

In mid-2012, just 6 years later, we decided to make a major change in our lives and moved to the middle of Berlin into an apartment that we adored. Our hearts were still calling us back to America, though, and so in late 2013, we completed the circle and moved back to Naples, Florida. In 2019, we found ourselves pulled to Indiana for work and fully enjoyed our time n the Midwest (aside from a few very frigid winters!). Now in 2026, we’re spending a lot more time on the road with our RV in tow, the two cats, and our Great Dane.
