It’s official. We’ve started the first cayenne plants. We planted 5 sets of seeds today so we’ll be monitoring them closely. We have a few other favorites to start growing in mind as well.

  • Jalepenos – we actually consume quite a few jalepenos. We eat them on sandwiches, in szechuan, eggs and many other things. Jarred jalepenos are rather expensive here and for some reason, they just don’t seem as hot as those we buy in America or at the commissary. Forget about finding fresh ones either. So we would love to produce enough of these to meet our normal consumption needs and pickle them if necessary.
  • Habeneros – every chili farm should have habeneros. They’re just a must.
  • Thai Chili
  • Cayenne – we use quite a bit of cayenne when we’re cooking so this would be really nice to grow ourselves.

I’m pretty sure we’ll come up with a few more chilies for this list sooner than later. ๐Ÿ™‚
