The main reason to Hagebau last night (besides getting grout for the tile) was to pick up paint for the guesthouse. We originally inteded to go with white, but that just ended up being too much. Especially walking into the guest house it felt like the white was overpowering.
Since we are not usually fans of walls being painted other than white we took a good amount of time playing with color samples. For the bathroom, we chose a very light brown, kind of like hot chocolate color which matches the border we used in the shower perfectly.
We ran out of paint before we could finish everything (the manufacturer was a bit too optimistic about how far the paint would go. Most of the room is now painted, with a few corners still left to go. In the picture below, the pain looks quite splotchy. Thankfully this seems to even out as it’s drying off.
We haven’ been able to try out the bedroom color just yet – we ran out of time today – but it will probably look very nice as well. It is hard to describe, so we’ll just leave you waiting until it goes on the wall.
Tomorrow we will continue painting the room and start the tiling process of the floor. Hopefully Macky will stick to his promise and come out tomorrow with our shower drain – a must have before we can go ahead with the floor tile.
Well I think bathroom has to be white. White is nice clean color and gives you more space and light. My bathroom is always white, as well as kitchen cabinets, mouldings, doors and windows. Good luck!
We are actually really pleased with the way the color turned out it here. It’s a bit pinker than we wanted but it brings out the tile trim in the shower which is really good…and softens the overall feel of the room which white often doesn’t do.
