I don’t use this seasoning with much but it’s essential for our chicken quesadillas. It couldn’t be much more simple and why buy the packaged stuff when you can make your own? Of course, we don’t even have the option to buy it which is exactly why I tracked down this recipe in the first place. I’m afraid I don’t know where it came from anymore but if someone does know, I’m happy to give the credit back to the rightful owner.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons chili powder
- 4 tablespoons cumin
- 2 teaspoons oregano (ground if you've got it)
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
Instructions
- Stir well and store in an air tight container.
- Use as you would the packets, using 2-3 tablespoons of the mix instead.
I don’t know why my wife keeps buying those yellow boxes with the undersized tortillas inside, I keep telling her we could just make the stuff for a lot cheaper and it would taste a whole lot better.
