I can hardly believe that 2011 is quickly drawing to an end. In just 47 days, we’ll be celebrating the arrival of 2012 and thinking about all the greatness that is to come in the new year. But for now, the rest of our 2011 is jam packed with activity!

Finish eating the delicious Dunkin Donuts that my husband brought with him from Berlin.
There is nothing healthy or even remotely low carb about them…but Dunkin Donuts are extremely hard to come by here in Germany. Actually, donuts in general that are not cake-like are hard to find. So when Stefan offered to bring donuts back with him after a business trip, I was all over that like a fat kid on a cupcake! They do not rival the oh so fresh and special donuts we once had in Bainbridge, GA and I fear nothing will ever replace that goodness — but one of these days, I am going to have to learn to make these myself.

Continue the massive push forward with our businesses
We have managed to get ourselves really focused and buckled down to accomplish SO many things in the last year. We’re in supercharge mode right now as we check things off our to do list and just work on making our ventures grow to be the powerhouses we know they are meant to be.

Continue the great decluttering of 2011
I’m going to write a full post about this later on in December, but I have thrown away stacks and stacks of paper things in our house this year…and finally started the great eBay sell off. There’s a lot of low ticket items going up on the auction block, but it’s always surprising to see what sells and what doesn’t. Hopefully we can also find some higher ticket items in the midst of all our chaos soon too. But even the small stuff adds up!

Celebrate Mackenzie’s 3rd birthday
I can hardly believe that in just 10 days, Mackenzie will be turning 3 years old. Some one catch me, I’m about to faint! Who hit the warp speed button on our lives? ‘Cause I can still remember her in my belly and being worn all over the place. Now I’m moaning and groaning every time I pick her up because she’s getting so big!

Celebrate Thanksgiving
Ah yes. One of the most highly celebrated days of the year for us. We take the opportunity to give any Americans we know around here a taste of home, and we let a few locals in on the tradition as well. This year, a friend of ours actually asked more than a month ago if she and her boyfriend would be invited again because he was reminiscing about how good all the food was. You know I had to invite him again!

Start a 3 week vacation with Stefan
Yep, he’s been saving up vacation days ALL YEAR (not even on purpose) and recently realized he has 19 vacation days to take! So he is going to be able to take 3 whole weeks off at the end of the year, two of which we will be doing something really exciting…

Fly to Florida for 2 whole weeks!
I can hardly believe that it’s actually true. But the tickets are booked and we cannot wait to get packing. I’m a bit nervous about taking Mack on that super long flight, but I’ll be more prepared than a Boy Scout so I’m sure everything will work out great. And you know I’ll be sharing tips and tricks to keep us sane on the 10 hour flight! And you better believe that there will be a serious amount of photos and videos shot while there!

Experience SeaWorld Orlando for the first time
This is meant to be something special for Mackenzie, but I think Stefan and I are going to be just as excited as she is. She LOVES aquariums so taking her to SeaWorld should be incredible. And we did consider Disney, but honestly the price is just insane — and she’s too young to appreciate most of what the parks have to offer there. So SeaWorld just seemed like the better choice. When’s the last time you thought about planning your own Florida vacations?

Get to spend some time with my mom
My mom will be coming over to spend some time with us while we’re in Florida as well, which will be nice since we haven’t been able to see her since shortly after Mackenzie was born. I know she’s hardly going to recognize this amazing little girl that she has become!

Take a deep breath
This is the first real vacation that Stefan and I will have taken since Mackenzie was born. So, we are also looking forward to celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary with a nice dinner with our closest family…and hopefully finding some personal us time as well since we’ll have so many babysitters on hand (for a change!) I’d say we’ve earned it!
What’s on your to do list for the rest of 2011?
Check out more fun top ten lists over at Oh Amanda!
Sounds like you have a lot planned out in these last 47(!!!) days! All I know is, this year has FLOWN by – is it just me, or do they go fast and faster the older one gets? I’m sure my folks (who just celebrated their 51st anniversary) would probably say that they go faster. π I hope you guys have a great time in Florida and enjoy your time off! Oh, and YIPEE for Dunkin’ Donuts!!!! π
The years do seem to go faster as we get older, or perhaps we’re just trying to pack so much more into them.
Definitely looking forward to spending a Christmas in the warmth again! And it’s the little things like junk food that you always end up missing the most! π
That’s a great list! I hope you have a great vacation in Florida. I’m just hoping to get through Thanksgiving.
