You’re not going to believe this, but I’m headed to jail!
Wait, don’t panic. Not to real jail.
I’m actually going behind bars for the Muscular Dystrophy Association as part of the Naples Executive Lock Up on April 16th. While my actual incarceration is more than a month away, I’m getting started on raising my $3500 bail now. And I need your help!!
Over 77% of the money donated goes straight to the families, and 14% is reinvested back into fund-raising programs, to help your donations grow and grow. The MDA has only a 9% administrative cost, which is very low on the non-profit spectrum. Most importantly, the money raised in SWFL is used to help families that live here.
The MDA is making a muscle in the fight against neuromuscular disease and they need your help to continue providing the various services that keep MDA families going. Here are some of those services:
- $800 sends one child living with muscle disease to a special summer camp designed with their physical abilities in mind.
- $650 buys 10 minutes of life saving research.
- $500 repairs durable medical equipment for one family for one year.
- $300 is the cost of initial diagnostic work up.
- $150 gives one person a physical or occupational therapy session.
- $65 buys one minute of research.
- $30 protects someone with muscle disease from the flu.
MDA is pursuing the full spectrum of research approaches toward combating neuromuscular diseases, from fundamental discoveries of the causes of disease to clinical trials of potential treatments. MDA also helps spread this scientific knowledge and train the next generation of scientific leaders by funding national and international research conferences, clinical research training grants and career development grants.
