At about 6:30 pm yesterday, Macky and Robert finished up the bathroom. I was quite ready for them to get out of here but also happy that they were taking the time to get everything done with now so they wouldn’t need to come back today to finish things up (although they have a bunch of small stuff to take care of still anyway but we won’t get started on that right now, so early in the morning). I am really enjoying not having workers all over the place, walking into the kitchen to make a cup of tea and they’re standing outside. And not having to smell their cigarettes as they smoke out of the window upstairs or see the butts on the ground outside where the dog can eat them. I will be even happier when we can get the container out of here (still need to make a thorough gate inspection but we had company over last night so that didn’t work out) even though I know that there will be many more trash containers to follow because we still have a ton of junk to toss out such as various pieces of built-in bird enclosures, scraps of wood which would likely have gone to build furniture and so on.
So here’s the mostly finished bathroom. We still have to get the cabinet that goes under the sink and the sink mounts on top of it so there is currently no sink in there at all. Actually, we’re not really sure where the sink has ended up at the moment because I bought it a while back and I’m pretty sure it was put into one of the storage rooms but at the moment, most of them are still very packed so I guess I’ll be digging that out this weekend if not sooner. And hopefully IKEA will be getting the cabinet in stock and we can have one more finished room with some space to unpack more boxes. Now if only we find a place for some of the stuff in the extra room…
