When we went to IKEA on Saturday, we stopped by the sample kitchen with Fagerland, the name of our kitchen fronts, just to see what they had done in there. What we saw we really liked. They had a white counter top and shiny white tiles with an ornate border running through it on the wall. The tiles were about 12 inches high and 8 inches wide and the border was probably 3 or 4 inches high. I guess we’re eventually going to need to go back there just to take a photo if we have problems finding something similar.
The border was close to the one below which I’ve found from Daltile called Rittenhouse Square White Classic. It’s a ceramic tile so I guess that is what we’ll need to be looking for when we do all this.
I imagine we may end up back at Dino’s for this purchase as well since he has a good selection but he’s not really done us any favors and he’s not all that close anymore so we’ll see. We have another friend of a friend who offered to cut us a very good deal on tile before but our floor tiles just sort of fell in our lap so we haven’t seen them yet. But they may indeed have just what we’re looking for.
I think we’ll probably wait to select anything until the counter top is here, though. That way we can check tile colors and see exactly what the counter will look like here…and know if we need to stick with a granite trim or if we can go with the tiles…one step at a time 😉
