As almost anyone who has ever owned a house (old or new) can tell you, it seems that there is a never ending list of things to do…and we are definitely no different. But it seems that each To Do List we compose ends up with a To Do List of its own. It’s a never ending saga. Of course, if we ever were to reach the bottom of these infinite lists, I suppose we’d instead be complaining of boredom…and what would be blog about?!
Being away from the house for a few days has seemed to jump start my desire to cross as many things off our To Do Lists as possible so I have spent part of the morning just doing a couple small things that have needed to be taken care of for a while.
For example, there is a leak somewhere in our shower. After we use it, there is a small puddle outside the edge of the shower and we just can’t seem to find the source. We tried to seal the shower about a month ago with silicon but it didn’t seem to have any impact. And since the shower has to be completely dry and the silicon needs at least 6 hours to dry it has limited when we could actually do this project. So I just went up there a little while ago and took care of it, I hope.
As you can kinda see in the photo above (sorry I don’t have a better one – our camera is MIA after the weekend), along the edge of the wall is a silver trim piece which holds the glass in place. We have used silicon along the edge of this twice, inside the shower, thinking it seemed like the most logical place for the leak and it looks like this is where the water is coming from. But apparently not since we’re still talking about it, right? I inspected the silicon along the bottom of the glass also, which joins to the shower basin, and it seems sealed there as well. So I figure the only other logical place that could be leaking is the where the silver piece holds the glass. There was no silicon here so I used some clear stuff and hopefully that will do the trick.
Now I guess it’s back to the clean up that I get to do every Monday, tons of laundry and working on my real job. 🙂
