Whenever we go to visit Stefan’s parents, we get to glance through the various magazines that they have bought in the last month or so. They usually have them in the living room and there are plenty of great gardening and food magazines which I can’t resist looking through. But in addition to those there in the living room, I realized that there is a stack of about 40 gardening magazines in our bedroom upstairs in their house. So I started a mission of going through all the magazines and scanning the pages of those things which I think we should incorporate, great ideas and useful tips. So far I have come across a wealth of information that I will be sharing on primarily on this blog. 🙂

A simple little project I found is this rack for galoshes. Here they are promoting a product that someone was selling (for 159 Marks = 80 euros!) but it’s amazingly simple so I’m fairly certain we could build our own.

It’s essentially just 6 wooden dowels set in a 2×4 and framed off by two end pieces. Then they attached a hedgehog boot scraper on one side. I haven’t checked prices on those little guys lately, but I’m pretty sure it’s a lot less than €80. Then we just lacquer it with a bit of wood stain or even paint it and we’re good to go! And since we constantly have shoes covered in mud after coming home from walks with the dog or out of the backyard, this really would be ideal!
