Oh hey, did you notice it’t Thursday again? It has been a wildly busy week for me and I hope to find some “serene” moments when the weekend arrives. But since our challenge from Beth @ I Should Be Folding Laundry this week was “serene” (which I actually looked up to make sure I knew what I was looking for — yeah, I’m OCD like that), I went on a mission for all things peaceful and calm. I would have taken some blue skies shots — but we only had a few brief glimpses of them around here. But hey, grey skies are perfect for photography!
Something about the sun in these trees and this little duck makes me feel peaceful.
These geese flying together were actually a bit noisy, but amazing to watch. I have a series of photos of them as they flew almost directly over me, and they were in perfect unison as they soared past. Either they’ve gotten lost on their way to the migration point or they decided they liked it here, because I’ve seen them for a few days in a row now.
Wondering what the complete opposite of “serene” is?
This was more like ecstatic, sublime or radiant.
The next day she put on rain pants…and we’re going to need some galoshes that don’t swallow her feet. Cause the boots she was wearing…still wet 2 days later. They weren’t my feet getting wet and cold…but no mom wants to be a total kill-joy. π
Oh my gosh, those last two photos made me laugh! What a good mom to let her splash – none of this, “Oh no, don’t do that sweetie…” stuff! Splashing in puddles is what life is all about (though somehow cold, wet feet don’t seem as exciting anymore…). The birds flying together is extremely serene – great capture!
I’m a proud mom! U let her do what I let all of mine do…splash in puddles! Great job mom!
When I was a child my mother used to let me run around in the rain, get soaked, and have a good time. In retrospect I wonder if she was hoping I would be struck by lightening? π
That splash picture is so cool! You captured it perfectly!!
I have to say my fave is the second to last – splashing in a puddle – I LOVE IT!!!
What fun it must have been for Mack !
Who cares about wet, cold feet ? It is over in no time when you get home and get something hot to drink !
Great pictures !
Wow your little one splashing just looks like fantastic fun and just look at how happy she is aswell. Those are such great photos to treasure π
Love the shots of your little girl splashing delightfully in the puddle! Great captures! And, yes, things were anything but serene around here, too. I was wondering if I was going to be able to come up with anything, but isn’t it wonderful to be able to *see* the serenity in moments even if it’s not what we hear or even feel at times? Ah, life… π
What a sweet serene pony and your little girl looks so happy – fun, fun!
