I had full intentions not to do You Capture this week…but I realized I do have something that already symbolizes warmth to me on my photo card (yes, I’m cheating because I took this a little while back). That would be my Wildcat Boots from LL Bean.
I’m a Bean junkie. We have their jackets, boots, flip-flops, etc, etc. I love the quality, the service and the lifetime guarantee. But this is not a review…that will be for another time…
These are the warmest boots I own, and they are perfect for tromping through the snow as well as just splashing through the puddles on those cool fall and spring-like mornings (which is what we have now).
Not my best stuff ever but my camera has been seriously neglected the last few weeks…I’ve just been wildly busy. Gotta snap outta that soon! Darn work getting in the way of my fun…
You Capture is on the move to Wednesday’s and will resume it’s regularly scheduled Thursday appearances after American Idol is gone for the season. Visit Beth on I Should Be Folding Laundry to find out more about her Idol obsession and see more great photography!
Personally, I think this is one of the best shots of the day! Of course, I know how warm those boots are (they even look warm in the photo) as I sit here with my super warm Bean houseshoes on! π I’m glad you decided to participate!
I adore L.L. Bean – my mom has been a life-long fan and she passed that love on to me I guess. When we used to live in Boston we would make day trips up to their store in Maine – oh for a limitless supply of funds! π
Speaking of L.L. Bean (and your comment on the clothing) – I actually purchased some low(er) rise pants from them on clearance back in the fall and I have worn the tail off of them! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. There are a few colors they didn’t have that I wanted, so that’s why I still have the pleated pants collection – haha!
Aww, thanks! I don’t know if I’ll find the time to get around and see everyone’s shots but I appreciate the kind words. It’s pretty amazing the shots you can take yourself when you just play around with your camera a little π
We are dying to go to a Bean outlet store…it will not end favorably for our bank account lol. So love their products and their customer support people are just fantastic every time we talk to them.
I have some of their granny cut-fleece lined pants and love them because they are super warm in the winter…but they seriously button above my belly button which just isn’t right! Unfortunately no sign of them doing the low-rise cut on those anytime soon…
I have those – they are my “mom jeans” and I LOVE the way they feel (except for the height, as you pointed out)! When we lived in Lesotho (Africa) the winters were SO COLD and with basically no heat in the house or where we were working, I survived because of things like my Bean’s fleece-lined pants!
On a side note – I also have my share of baggy sweaters as carry-overs from the big-sweater days. This year I finally purged some of them as they just swallowed me and Peter decided it was time for them to g-o. I agreed. π
They do make warm boots! Great shot!
I wore my rain boots from college (they are a little out of style now!) the other day when it was rainy and cold and I told my husband – “these are SO warm!” May need to get some like yours. Love the perspective of that shot.
Love it. Great contrast, darling shot!
Those look like some seriously warm and perfect boots. Love them! : ) I hope you get to wear flip flips sooner rather than later.
Glad to see that you’re enjoying the milder weather we’ve been given!
