Ayla gets to spend her first night in the new house tonight…and so do we. She & I arrived at the house at around 2 pm after I spent most of the morning trying to make sure I had everything with me that we’d need to work on the house for the next couple of days and food to feed all the hungry friends who will be helping us. The new house is less than 30 minutes from our current house but it would still have been a pain to drive back for things so we went with a camping mentality that if we forgot it, we didn’t need it. 😉

Alya got to watch her first trash container be delivered. That must have been exciting for her since it was definitely exciting for me. I was fascinated by the way they lowered the thing off the truck and the ease with which the driver backed up into our courtyard.

At the moment, things seem really intimidating here and I guess I’m even freaking out a bit. There are literally tons of things to be done but I have no idea where to start. But start I must and since the container is actually here, there is nothing to hold me back. Time to grab my gloves and start going through all the various things which have been stored and collected in this home for the last 30 years.
