So, many of you have been wondering where we’ve been since our posts just dropped off. As you might have guessed, we haven’t been working on the farm but instead have been fighting off colds and recuperating from the work we did last week

After finishing the ceiling beams on Friday night we managed to put up one piece of dry wall and by that time it was 9.30pm. Saturday morning Macky was coming with the electrician and we’d hoped to have the beams up so they could lay the plumbing and electrical cables. Stefan worried all night that Macky would tell us we did everything wrong and our ceiling construction would need to be redone. Thankfully he actually told us we did really well and that he was proud of our work. So that put our minds at ease a bit.

We had friends over on Saturday night so we spent most of the day cleaning the house which it really needed. Sunday we were pretty worn out from staying up until 4am the night before so we didn’t really feel like doing much work. Monday was my birthday and we had a few other friends coming over for dinner so we took the day off again.

Today we’re pretty unmotivated again. We were up late last night and decided to take a long walk with Ayla this morning. We have a friend coming over again tonight (quite the entertainers we are lately) so we’re just taking it easy until then. But tomorrow we will be hard at work again, hanging drywall and building wall studs.

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention but our neighbor across the street saw that we’d received the drywall and offered any of his tools and even his own assistance if we needed it. We were shocked and really appreciative for the offer…and we may actually have to take him up on the offer when we do the drywall on the high portions of the wall. With the extender poles it’s possible for two people to hang the drywall on the ceiling but it may get more complicated on the walls.
