When we were at Hagebau, the local home improvement store today, we picked up new soil starter pods and a bigger greenhouse that can hold 40 plants and has a much higher roof. So the cucumbers, both corns and the zucchini have found a new home in there. I imagine we’ll need to move the Colibri tomatoes over there in the coming days as well. The cucumbers are doing really well and the stems are 2-3 inches now. The 5th one still hasn’t come up but we haven’t given up total hope. The jumbo corn are going to need to be transplanted to bigger pots very soon. I think we’ll end up using some of the soil we buy for the raised beds to plant those in some bigger pots.
Since we had space for 20 new seed starters, we planted 10 canning cucumber seeds, 5 sets of cayenne seeds, 2 more sweet corn seeds and a few parsley seeds. I know parsley should usually just be planted in the ground but its permanent home hasn’t been finished yet so we figured it would be fun to at least try it for now.
