Well it seems we don’t have too much to worry about aside from the fact that Ayla seems to be cleaning herself a bit too much and has caused a slight infection and irritation to her vulva because she is licking it so often. The vet gave us some light antibiotics which we need to give her twice a day for a week. And on Friday I’ll need to take her back in for another visit to make sure that things are looking better. So now we’ll need to figure out the best way to give Ayla the pills which look like Pepto Bismal and hope that things start to clear up. And of course we’ll just need to pay more attention to her to prevent any further accidents in the house.
While we were there we also got the vet to weigh her since it’s rather difficult for us to accomplish that at home now with our normal scale. Not only does she not fit on the scale alone but she’s too heavy for us to hold her so we’ve not been able to determine how she’s keeping up with her growth now. She’s at 90 pounds now (41 kilos) so we’re guessing that in her putting on weight growth phase that she’s definitely going to increase in size a bit more and probably will then be easily pulling us off our feet if we’re not paying attention and she decides to go after something. lol
