This was a varied topic this week, because our lovely host Beth decided to ask her son Noah what the topic for YouCapture this week. His response was: “like trees and beautiful plants and little cute babies.

Now we do have a lot of trees and plants around here (although their beauty is in the eye of the beholder), but there is a shortage of little babies since Mackenzie is anything but a baby anymore (*sniff*). She does already have a few babies of her own, though. And Ayla, who is thankfully mostly out of heat again, also has babies. But I won’t share the deconstructed pieces of dead rubber chicken with you. She’s eaten the head off of a Santa chicken and the legs off an angel. These creatures will squawk no more.

At any rate, I tried to be a bit creative this week with angles and textures I captured. Hopefully you’ll notice the differences and also come check out my Garden Life images coming tomorrow. 🙂

A shot of some of the geraniums I bought today for our window boxes — gotta make the house look lovely before our second visit of the summer and the Lantern Festival. 🙂 Now to plant them…

A freshly opened rose that was kissed by the rain. It just looked so perfect I had to share it.

This was one of the many shots I tried out that I wasn’t looking through the viewfinder for. I just found something interesting, angled the camera at it and shot. I love the way the light reflects and the texture of the strawberries and bricks that form our courtyard garden.

Capturing the perspective of a bug, or the goose neck squash. 🙂

One of Mackenzie’s favorite babies at the moment. Every morning he has to get dressed with her.

And last but certainly not least, Mackenzie, who is still our baby even though she’s 2 1/2 years old already — and her absolute favorite animal/baby, Hasi. Yes, he has to get dressed too. 🙂
