We got a notice in the mail this week from our local government, informing us that we need to call them to make an appointment for someone to come out and inspect our “Fäkaliensammelgrube” (fecal matter collection pit.) Apparently this is some sort of backlash from having our big compost pit cleaned out. I guess when the collection company disposed of it, they still told the county it was human waste and not animal. Smart.
So we’ll have to give them a call next week and see what sort of fabulous things they have to say. We hope that when we tell them what it actually was that they will just let us be. The compost pit has only been there FOREVER and although we do have an outhouse, it has it’s own waste pit, that is covered under our historical society charter. Apparently these local offices don’t have enough to keep them occupied these days…
