It is now officially freezing in Germany. I don’t mean that figuratively but literally.

When I let Ayla out to go pee this morning, she walked out onto the grass and looked around herself, wondering what that strange crunching sound was. ๐Ÿ™‚ Since she was born in February, this year will be her first interaction with snow…and we really can’t wait.

Hubby flew to London this morning for work so I drove him to the airport. The BMW temperature gauge said it was 26 degrees outside…lovely. Thankfully, we have seat warmers in there so it heats up quickly but scraping ice off the windshield is still a cold process.

Ayla went with us, of course, so when we got back, I figured I would take her for her walk immediately since it was that time already. Since the temperature was still only about 28 degrees, I did consider going inside to put on more clothes but Ayla didn’t really seem keen on that concept so I decided to suck it up.

By the end of the walk I regretted that decision a bit since my fingers felt like they were frozen but at least most of the rest of me wasn’t feeling too cold. Gotta love LL Bean and their jackets.

Today Ayla & I will be spending part of the day at the farm while the contractors hopefully finishes up the bathroom finally. We have some friends coming to stay with us on Friday night and we figured we’d stay at the farmhouse since we have some contractors and an insurance guy coming out to the house on Saturday – but if there’s no heat, we have a problem. Not to mention with it being as cold as it is lately, it’s not great to have no heat on in the house. Going to be another very cold one today. Not even about freezing yet and it’s almost 10 am. Lovely.
