In many parts of the Northern Hemisphere, it’s starting to get cooler and the passing of Halloween means the holiday season is now upon us!

While we don’t get much cold weather down here in South Florida (and when it does happen to drop below 70°F, we pull out the sweaters and jackets), we do love entertaining guests. And there are few things worse than sending everyone home and realizing even more work is about to begin because you’ve got to clean things up and wash all those dishes.

Unless you have a good helper in the kitchen… holiday-party-helper

Unless you’ve planned ahead and grabbed yourself some practical and great looking SOLO® Holiday products. From clear plastic to heavy duty paper plates in a variety of colors, they’ve got you covered. Serving up majorly serious food portions? Grab those Premium Strength dishes to make sure no one ends up sharing their food with the dog unintentionally!

I have to admit we’ve done a lot of celebrating with SOLO cups recently…where I played by first game of Flippy Cup. Talk about good times. But SOLO is so much more than that.

Since we’ve been out of the country for several years, it’s been a while since I’ve interacted with SOLO products. In fact, in Germany, many of the disposable alternatives are downright crummy and seem disintegrate with the first drop of food. But we were all really thrilled about the quality of these products. And there’s one more super nice thing… Their small cups are deceptively huge. So when you fill one up with drinks at a party, you can fit a whole lot in there!

A few nights ago, we went over to the in-laws and cooked crab cakes. Stefan whipped up a new avocado salad recipe that I can’t wait to share soon. Instead of leaving a huge mess of dishes AND cooking pans in our wake, we brought our SOLO plates and cups to make the clean up that night happen in minutes.

Something we all loved about the SOLO plates are the depth of them. You can really load lots of holiday goodness on each plate. And you don’t have to worry about them caving in on you. Plus you can use a real knife on them without cutting a hole.

As we all gear up for the holidays, keep these things in mind if you’re going to be doing a lot of entertaining:

  • Don’t try to be Wonder Woman. Ask people for help. They’ll be glad to pitch in and you’ll get to save your sanity.
  • Pick simple, make ahead or familiar recipes. The holidays are not the time to get creative in the kitchen and you don’t need to morph into Wolfgang Puck either.
  • Plan ahead. Make your shopping lists & buy things ahead of time as possible…especially if they go on sale!
  • Grab a package or two of ‘It’s My Solo’ Cups and never have to worry about grabbing the wrong drink again. Peel the label on the cup, scratch in your name or a design, and you’re ready to go!
  • Smile and have fun! To quote Clark Griswold, “It’s the holidays and everyone is miserable.” But seriously, even if things start to go wrong, do your best to relax, stay calm and make the most of the time with family and friends.
