This past year has been a rather wild ride for us, holding lots of surprises, both good and bad. We usually forget just how far we’ve come and how much has occurred so I thought a year in review was due.

Best Moments of 2008

  • Ayla turned two and became the best dog ever, even without training
  • We finally went back to Florida after 8 long years and saw friends we’d really been missing
  • I made a new home for my blogs and am loving the results
  • Mackenzie arrived
  • We had the heaters upgraded and tuned and the house is finally mostly warm now
  • We met a few more neighbors and are considered as “old-timers” by the real old-timers who’ve lived here forever

What Lies Ahead in 2009

There’s a list of projects a mile long for us…but we have set a couple of priorities this year and the garden is topping most lists. We killed off most of our seedlings last year when we went to Florida so we’re going to try to avoid that this year. I’m sure there will be plenty of other things we end up doing during weekends too.

  • Getting our garden in order so we can grow almost all of produce
  • Renovate and expand Stefan’s workshop in the barn so we can not only find things but also have a place to use his tools
  • Clean up our attic and storage rooms so we can reorganize the rest of our junk
  • Build the outdoor patio

Hopefully we can wipe these tasks off the slate without much ado. And we’re calling for an injury-free year, too!
