Time to give our walls some color

If you've ever had the privilege of visiting our home, you may notice that we have pure white walls...nearly everywhere. I say nearly because we did actually get brave and paint the walls in our guesthouse something other than white (namely a warm caramel color and something similar with a pinkish-hue in the bathroom out there). More small projects to get done

We started our morning off with a nice little walk with Ayla and then went to a place down the street which serves pretty good breakfast. The new bathroom is nearly finished

Macky has left for the day and gotten everything accomplished that he was planning to. The tile is in and it looks great. So all he'll need to do on Monday is grout the floor, install the shower walls and the toilet. We haven't been able to get the sink cabinet yet so either we'll install the sink ourselves later or get Macky to do it since he'll probably be here soon enough doing something else for us. … [Read more...]

So apparently I kinda suck at my job of property manager (or whatever you want to call it) because I am a bit shy when it comes to asking people to do things. Ayla’s left her mark

I almost had heart failure a few minutes ago. Ayla was laying in the entry hall and I was here in the office wrapping things up before hubby came home. I heard the dog upstairs in one of the rooms and wondered to myself when I'd left the spare bedroom door open.Turns out that door was closed...but the door to the bathroom wasn't...because it's not even on its hinges. Far from finished but still progress

Yesterday hubby called Macky to talk about something and Macky mentioned that he'd be working late tonight to finish up the bathroom. But as of 20 minutes ago, he and his helper have left the building and I don't think they intend to come back tonight. Leaving her mark on the house

Ayla just about caused me to have heart failure a few minutes ago. For some reason, she decided now would be a good time to go explore upstairs and I completely forgot that the bathroom upstairs has about an inch of fresh cement on the floor to level it out...and there is no door or anything else to prevent the dog from going in the room. The bath is getting there

The new bathroom upstairs is still coming along nicely. They've reinstalled the radiator up there and it actually works so that makes two out of 4 rooms that have heat upstairs now. The heater guy is supposed to come out with Macky on Friday so hopefully that will really be the case and we can get the heat flowing in the rest of the house finally.
