I picked this up from Finally Living Deliberately who got it from Lizzies Homeworld and I thought it would be fun to play along.

A ~Aprons–y/n If y, what does your fav. look like?
Well I do have one or two aprons, but I rarely wear them. I probably should put them on more often but I generally forget until I’ve already got something spilled on me…which probably means I should have them out in a more prominent location so I don’t forget them, especially when making anything with tomato sauce in it! Might be more practical if I wear one while eating, though 😉

B ~ Baking–Favorite thing to bake?
I love baking just about anything. Cakes, cookies, muffins…and pizza!

C ~ Clothes line?
It’s a metal rack that folds up and not a line…I put it in the kitchen near the heater and clothes are dry in no time.

D ~ Donuts–Have you ever made them?
No, nor am I sure it would be a safe idea. I LOVE doughnuts and am fairly sure I would have to eat almost all of them the second they were done.  I did make cinnabuns once – man were those good!

E ~ Everyday–One homemaking thing you do everyday?
I cook in some shape or form every day…even if I don’t really feel like it. Those days it becomes a pizza (which takes hardly any time thanks to the bread machine) or thaw something for the oven. Vacuuming is fast becoming one of those tasks also.

F ~ Freezer–Do you have a separate deep freeze?
Yes, a huge trunk one. It’s to the point of overflowing now. Which is very good considering the crazy times the economy is now experiencing.

G ~ Garbage Disposer?
Sadly no. They’re not too popular here in Germany. We’ve talked about getting one for a while though…I miss them. Instead we have a local trash pickup for garden refuse, flush it or feed it to the worms. One day there will be a compost in our back yard for some stuff as well that the worms don’t have capacity for.

H ~ Handbook–What is your favourite homemaking resource?
I started assembling my own from tips I find online…but I don’t have a specific handbook for everything just yet. The internet is the ultimate source!

I ~ Ironing–Love it or Hate it? Or hate it but love the results?
It’s not something I would call “fun,” but I can think of worse things. I try to knock out a few of Stefan’s shirts once every few mornings so I don’t have to get up every day at 6am to iron for him. Yes, I could do it all on one day or something to that effect – but ick. Three shirts at a time is my limit!

J ~ Junk Drawer–y/n? Where is it?
There is a partial junk drawer in the kitchen…but I know most of what is in it and not much of it is actually junk. There are a few places in the house with junk shelves though. 🙂

K ~ Kitchen–color and decorating scheme.
Plain white walls (easy to touch up when Newf drool and funkiness start to plague them), antique wood finish on the cabinets which matches the dining table, off-white tiles on the floor. Rather homey farmhouse feeling but still a bit modern. And a few cow accents here and there although most of them are still packed away unfortunately.

L ~ Love–what is your favorite part of homemaking?
Entertaining guests. That feeling of accomplishment when the house looks great and I know I did that.

M ~ Mop–y/n?
It’s a necessary evil. Have one wet mop that is very simple to use and a very cool steamer system for when things get really bad.

N ~ Nylons, machine or hand wash?
They go in a delicates cycle with other stuff…but I rarely wear them these days.

O ~ Oven–do you use the window or open the oven to check?
Open the door. I may need to turn the dish and I like to smell the progress.

P ~ Pizza–What do you put on yours?
All sorts of yummy stuff. Cheese…salami…zucchini & eggplant from the garden…not all at once of course but pizza is great in that you can put just about anything you like on it and it will be great.

Q ~ Quiet–What do you do during the day when you get a quiet moment?
Quiet? What’s that? Read email or catch up on blog stalking.

R ~ Recipe Card Box–y/n? What does it look like?
A few notebooks full of plastic sleeves with recipes…and a stack of other more newly introduced ones that never make it back into the book…have to go through those old ones one day and see if there is anything worth cooking in there.

S – Style of house–What style is your house?
German timber-frame farm, built in 1834.

T ~ Tablecloths or Placemats?
Placemats if it’s a special occasion…sometimes my big silver terracotta chargers…but usually nothing.

U ~ Under the kitchen sink–organized or toxic wasteland?
Almost everything is in a wine crate so I can pull all the junk out at once…but I have a lot of bottles that need emptying in there. Lots of duplicate junk.

V ~ Vacuum–How many times per week?
The kitchen needs it daily…the other parts downstairs every other day…upstairs once a week or so.

W ~ Wash–How many loads of laundry do you do per week?
Clothes get 3-4 loads a week and another 1-2 for towels, sheets, etc.

X’s–Do you keep a daily list of things to do that you cross off?
I’m fairly good about a daily list for work stuff…but home stuff the list is just too chaotic. Trying to remedy that, though, cause lists definitely help me minimize the chaos.

Y ~ Yard–y/n? Who does what?
No one….which is why it looks so sad right now.

ZZZ’s–what is your last homemaking task for the day before going to bed?
Turn off all the lights, make sure everything is Newfie-proofed, load and start the dishwasher if needed.
