This is part two of our ongoing saga called the greenhouse. Yesterday we built the wooden foundation and side walls but got stopped by missing a simple device, a protractor. Since it’s Sunday and we aren’t technically allowed to make too much noise we didn’t really get much done on the greenhouse today. However, since we now had a protractor, after finding a template for one on the internet last night, we couldn’t stop ourselves from sneaking in a few cuts with the power saw to see what the greenhouse roof will look like.

Once again the instructions were quite clear and with the help of our homemade protractor it took only a few minutes – actually about 20 – until we had our first roof truss in our hands. We decided we didn’t want to get in trouble with the neighbors for being too loud and had to cut our carpentry time short today. But a first dry run on how it would fit we are very happy.

We hope to finish the roof trusses in the evenings after work this week. Hopefully we can knock out the rest of them by tomorrow night and finish the bracing of the walls. Then Wednesday night we could already finish the framing. We’ll see how that works out us – stay tuned.
