Ah flowers. Definitely one of my favorite things to photograph. Many flowers appear far more delicate and soft when photographed than they do in real life. Or maybe the naked eye just doesn’t see all the fine details so well until it’s all amplified.
So as you’ve probably guessed by now, the theme for You Capture this week is flowers — and although I didn’t post last week because it was a holiday here in Germany and we were just enjoying spending time as a family, I’m happy to be back this week sharing more photos.
If you’d like a reason to use your camera more often and would like to join in the You Capture fun — or just want to see more pretty pictures of flowers, make sure you hop over to I Should Be Folding Laundry and peruse all the other links!
Here’s a wild blossom that Mackenzie calls an apple blossom — which does look quite similar. But all the apple blossoms are gone — and this is just some wild flower that we found growing nearby.
Mackenzie picked a bunch of them for me a few days ago, and we put them in a glass so they would last longer. When I was photographing the flowers, I noticed one of the flowers was actually underwater and parts of it had become transparent.
And finally, something with a bit more color!
How are the flowers looking in your neck of the woods?
Love that last photo – really pretty colors and focus. Hope all is well!
I took two classes in plant identification when I was attending college years ago. I spent many happy hours laying on my stomach, magnifying glass in hand, looking at the tiniest flowers imaginable.
Don’t just look at the large showy blooms but feast your eyes occasionally on the tiny jewels that nature has created for your enjoyment. Weeds have blooms too and they can be spectacular if you look closely enough.
So very pretty! Bet you are looking forward again this year to apples, apples, apples!!
