Some of you may be aware of the fact that I love, love, LOVE my camera. My husband was generous enough to buy me a wonderful Canon EOS 1000D DSLR camera as my “congratulations for doing an awesome job carrying our daughter in your belly for the last 9 months” gift. Some girls get jewelry (I got some of that too) but I got something that just keeps on giving. Because as you’ve likely noticed…I use my camera A LOT! And you only get to see about half of what I shoot…because honestly, I just don’t have the time to share it all. And the beauty of digital is that you can take 100 shots to get those 2-3 perfect ones, without feeling guilty about wasting film. Now if only I could get myself to start having some of those photos printed to hang on our walls. Another project for another year I guess.
But I digress. I just discovered something I think might be fun over on I Should Be Folding Laundry that I’m looking forward to joining on Thursdays. You Capture is a reason for you to get out there and experiment with your camera, whatever kind you have, and look at things in a new way. Because I really don’t know much about my camera (but I’m looking forward to learning), I thought this would be something fantastic to try out.
This week’s challenge: In the kitchen.
The one appliance that I proudly display on my counter top, begging to be used…my KitchenAid.
The place I seek refuge in on a nearly daily basis as I turn ordinary ingredients into magical meals.
And just a little something I got recently that I find so unbelievably awesome that I refuse to put it away somewhere that I can’t smile at it every day.
By the way, did you vote for my photo yet?
I know I’ve mentioned this quite a few times now…but if I get the most votes in that category, I get a $500 gift certificate from Sigma Photography — and that could get me a really awesome start for some of their increidble equipment…which would mean more fabulous photos to share!
So if you haven’t voted already. visit this page, click the Review button below the photo of Mack, enter your email address at the top of the photo when it loads and click vote. Oh, and don’t forget to click the link they send you via email to confirm your vote! Could it be more steps?? By the way…You’re the best!!
Oh, this sounds like fun! I have very little talent for taking good pictures, but I love to try and every now and then I actually get one I like! π I’m heading over there now to check it out and then will post my own. BTW, I love my Kitchen Aid – and I love your picture of it. π
Oooo! I love all the spices! π
I love the spices and how orgenized they all are.
The spice photo is awesome. I love the jars. You have inspired me!
The jars are from IKEA. I absolutely LOVE them. I have a drawer right next to my stove that is dedicated to these spice jars and keep all my most frequently used spices in there.
