Have a water phobia? Beware of Newfoundlands

It’s pretty common knowledge that Newfs love water and Ayla is definitely no different.

She was outside today with her water bowl and instead of drinking everything in it, she decided it would be better to use her paws to get all the water out of the bowl as fast as possible. A new sort of game I guess you could say. I would have thought that she would then lay in the water too cool off or just because she could…but she hasn’t done that yet. I’m sure it won’t be long thought since it’s getting pretty warm here and I’m sure she’s starting to feel it. Thank goodness we have a freezer although we might have to get one of those huge freezers if it gets too warm….worst case we just stick her in there for a few minutes with the lid open to cool her off…Newf hair is already all over everything so why not in the freezer too? 😉

She can’t get a grip on this bowl with her mouth and also can’t tip it over so this is probably her only option of play…otherwise I imagine she would be carrying it around the yard like the plastic water bowl. She also refused to move her paw out of the bowl later on when I wanted to refill it.

Unfortunately she later decided this would be a good idea in the house too…think again little puppy lol
