One of our more major projects down the road will be constructing a wine cellar here on the farm. We are not avid wine collectors since most of our money goes into the house but we do enjoy good wines and are trying to learn all we can. We are lucky enough to live within a few hours drive of some of Europe’s best wine regions and would love to take the time to travel to many more wine regions in France, Spain, Portugal and Italy to name a few.
Naturally we need a way to keep track of everything we purchase and drink since everything is currently in boxes. Thankfully we found a really great online wine tracking software called CellarTracker. Not only can you add all the information about your own wines that you might possibly need, but you can also read and compare tasting notes of the rest of the community. Tasks for your own cellar include uploading labels, adding drinking windows, valuations, purchase information and shelf placement in your cellar, printing your inventory list and even printing and scanning bar codes. You can also include your own private tasting notes as well as the notes which will be viewed publicly and create a wish list. Yes, it’s quite thorough and that doesn’t include the paid upgrades.
