The ‘feel good’ factor is pure magic. Even if there are too many obstacles in your way, you can stay calm and tackle them as they come. However, you need to actually ‘feel’ good. Whenever the dark trouble rises up, tell yourself, ‘It is a phase that will pass away.’ Don’t panic! Calm down and feel good about yourself today.

Avoid bad habits

In today’s world, it is impossible to stay away from every bad habit. Rather, it is difficult to not form a new bad habit. However, it is our will power. If we tell ourselves that we will not smoke for the entire day, we will be tested. If your will power is strong, you will survive the day without smoking. Even if your willpower isn’t that strong, you will smoke less than the regular days.

 

Have a role model, fictional or real

It doesn’t matter if you have a fictional role model, but have one who can inspire you when you are down. To be honest, it will not be the only thing that can pull you up, but that little push is what we need, at times. So, have a role model (or create one). However, be sure that the role model is good at heart and mind.

Control your habits

What makes you overeat or what forces you to pick that packet of cigarette and smoke? Ask yourself questions and try to find the cause of your troubles. Once they are identified, you can work on them and slowly eradicate them from your system. There are a number of books available to resolve this issue.

 

Make a plan

Making a plan, you are informing yourself that there are a number of things to be followed. In this list, include everything you should do. Having a plan in mind, you can follow it religiously and motivate yourself to work harder. So, have a plan and don’t stop till you have not achieved your goals.

Stay away from distractions

For example, if you are writing a story, try not to write it at home. Why? Because that sweet and beautiful bed of yours will call you. Apart from it, door bells, telephones, etc. are some of the other distractions that will force you to keep that story aside and waste your time. So, move out of your house, switch off your cell phone for some time and move to a place where you can find inspiration. Remember – Inspiration is important, not silence.

 

Stop feeling guilty

If you are carrying the guilt on the back of your shoulders, you will keep thinking about it. So, stop feeling guilty and start working. However, you should promise yourself that you will not make that mistake again and try not to make that mistake.
