Ayla turned 2 years old on Saturday…and of course she made out like a bandit!
One of the great things about dogs is that they get as excited about toys as most children do. Our two cats, on the other hand, look at us like we’re dumb when we bring them a new toy.
So far her two favorites are the white bear stuffie (we call him Mr. White since we already have a toy called “bear) and the little brown dog stuffie (Mr. Brown since we have another dog toy similar to this one called various things aside from “doggie” or things similar to that since we don’t want her to mistake a toy whatever for her plaything.) She’s been carrying these two here and there, inside and outside. They’re not too filthy yet but most of their noisemakers are already broken…in fact they were pretty much spent on the first day already.
I didn’t wrap her present for a change because there was just too much else going on. So Ayla got to go fishing for her gifts in the bottom of this big bag.
We went for two nice long walks with her during the day also…over two hours total, around 8 km distance. She seemed to be rather pleased at the end of the day but was rather questioning about why she didn’t get a big bag of gifts on Sunday morning too. π
If she plays her cards right, we may celebrate her “gotcha day” in April too with a gift or three. We’d also really like to organize something with her breeders and her brothers and sister this year – a big play date with a walk and so on…but we’ll see! Nine Newfies in our courtyard would be a test…and hopefully it would be a VERY dry day because our house may never recover from that many muddy paw prints!
Sophie and Ayla have a lot in common. She would definitely opt for Mr. White and Mr. Brown … the stuffies … would disable the squeakers and carry them around for the rest of her life. She never disembowels, just desqueaks.

P.S. Happy B-Day Ayla!
Well, Ayla already disemboweled poor Mr. Brown…but I’ve decided to spare him and will sew him up with the dino at some point when free time appears. He’s just too cute to say goodbye to already.
Thanks for the birthday wishes! Ayla is already asking when she gets to celebrate like that again π

Hi Johann! Thanks for stopping by! It was a great birthday indeed. I’ve already performed surgery on one of my new stuffies but mom said she’ll fix it so I’m quite excited!
Truman, I love your lobster! It’s fantastic. Just stopped by your dogster-space and added you as a friend!

Aww, well I’m sure you have a “gotcha day” – and I’ve heard those can be just as splendid! Plus this way, it’s like you never officially age! π
Thanks for stopping by the blog!
Newfie kisses,
Ayla
